Gateway Recap

Last week in class we had a group of people come speak to us from the Gateway. The gateway is an online and print newspaper at the university of Nebraska Omaha that has been around for almost 100 years. We had the Editor and chief Kamrin Baker come in and talk about all the lovely options they have to offer. The gateway is a great way for students to get involved and find their tribe which is cliché, but clichés are true. The gateway is also known now and around to be a well-established. The good thing about this is that you get to gain real world experience while you are also in school. They have been pretty active with covering a lot of political events recently. From trump to Bernie they have been very active. They also let people freelance and write stuff regardless of your major and regardless of if you are unsure if your full want to join or not. I like the Idea of the gateway and I think it is a great way to gain real world experience and even something to beef up your resume. College isn’t just about the classes. its about all of the people you meet during those classes.
